Final Project:
Purpose: Your final project for this course will require you to select an upcoming
communication or set of communications for which you are responsible. The project is
intended to allow you the opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the concepts
presented in the course by applying them to a real world communication or communication
strategy. Your project should substantively display the effective application of course concepts
to create an integrated, synthesized communications approach, incorporating detailed analysis
and samples.
.
Process: Using your previous assignments as a basis, thoroughly discuss how communication
channels were determined, your process of synthesis, possible sources of resistance and your
planned strategy for overcoming it, how you plan to apply the DIKA model, and so on. You
should not merely resubmit previous assignments. Instead, build or improve upon the earlier
submissions, either by connecting them to other elements or refining them for clarity and
greater integration. Simply stated, this project includes two parts. Part 1 – You are expected
to develop an integrated and consistent approach for your project that includes sample
communications and other documents that would make this a usable communication or
communication strategy. Part 2 – You should provide a thorough analysis of how you
applied the principles discussed in the lectures, discussion board assignments, and textbook
chapters. This analysis can be presented together with the sample materials or as a separate
section based on your preference for organizing the work.
Submission: Depending on the size and complexity of your communication or communication
strategy, the analysis portion (part 2) will likely be 5 to 10 pages in length. The number and
length of the sample communication materials will vary depending on the size and
complexity of the communication or communication strategy you’ve chosen. Place the
document in the appropriate drop box before the end of the day on Sunday.
Final Project Policies:
Submission Format:
The project elements should be submitted in either a single PDF file (the preferred
format), or a single Word or Powerpoint/Keynote file. In case of internet-related
problems, you should send the results to the instructor as an attachment to a
message within the University Alliance portal the exact same day.
Deadline Extensions for Submission of Final Project:
Same as for Reflection Papers.
